Use the phrases on the left when you play cards. Record a short video of your group speaking Māori while you play. Share the video with your teacher.

Before you start / Ī mua i te tīmatanga
  1. Make groups of 3–5 students. / Waihangatia he rōpū 3–5 tāngata.
  2. Choose a card game (e.g. Memory, Go Fish, Snap). / Kōwhiria tētahi kēmu kāri.
  3. Set up one device to record. / Whakaritea he pūrere hei hopu ataata.
While you play / I te wā e tākaro ana
  • Speak only Māori — try to use at least 8 phrases. / Kōrero Māori anake, whakamahia kia 8 rerenga neke atu.
  • One person counts the phrases. / Kotahi te tangata hei tatau i ngā rerenga.
  • Be loud and proud! / Kōrero māia, kōrero kaha!
